The Hawaiian King Hotel was built by Herbert Lee in 1959 and was well known as a hotel with "kitchens"and it was family orientated. In the 1960's the property was home to many traveling "Pacific Coast League AAA Baseball teams coming to play the "Hawaii Islanders". It was also at one time managed by Mrs. Blairs wife of "Lord Tally Ho Blairs" a well know local Wrestler so naturally many of the wrestlers coming to the Islands frequented the Hawaiian King Hotel
Hawaiian king Conversion 1979-1980
The Hawaiian King Hotel was sold to a local developer who converted it to a Condo/Hotel after remodeling each of the 67 commercial apartments and the three (3) ground floor commercial units(Mini Mart and Tavern) and doing a major renovation of the pool area landscaping.
The official name after the condo conversion was "Hawaiian King' and the property remained a vacation rental building with a 24 hour Front Desk offering a "Rental Pool".

MAHALO... HK AOAO
Hawaiian king 2009-present
Since 2009 the basic model has changed and the Owner's Association (AOAO) runs the desk with an emphasis on Building Management to include registration of all guests and owners,
Enforcement of House Rules, Building Security and the day to day operations of the Maintenance Dept. and co-ordination between the Board of Directors (BOD) and our Managing Agent, Hawaiiana Management Co. LTD.
The Front Desk DOES NOT take any reservations for the Vacation Rental Units, but one purpose of this Official "Web Site" run and managed by the AOAO is to showcase HK owner's condominium units that are available to the public for rental.
30 year overview
Over the last 30 years the Hawaiian King has had over 200 owner's or an average length of ownership of about 10 years. Today we have about 55 owners, there is just one original owner still in the building and he is the current President of the AOAO, the majority owner and also involved along with about 10 other owners in the vacation rental business.
